Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, will conduct the 2023 Safe Korea Drill at the Uljin Sports Complex on the 26th.
The Safe Korea Drill is an exercise conducted jointly by disaster management authorities in accordance with the Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety, aimed at establishing a close cooperation system and enhancing disaster response capabilities. It is held annually.
The drill, which includes both discussion and field exercises simultaneously, assumes a fire caused by a gas explosion within a multi-use facility and will demonstrate disaster response capabilities such as rapid rescue of lives and fire suppression.
In particular, the disaster situation room, equipped with a system connected in real-time to the disaster site, will activate the disaster countermeasures headquarters, while on-site command will operate the emergency rescue control team and integrated support headquarters, simulating an actual command system.
The drill will be conducted on a large scale with the participation of over 150 personnel and about 20 vehicles and equipment from related disaster response agencies including Uljin Police Station, Uljin Fire Station, military units, public health centers, and voluntary disaster prevention groups.
Son Byeong-bok, the county governor, said, “Various disasters have occurred frequently recently, and through this drill, we will do our best to create a safe Uljin-gun by cooperating with related agencies in the event of an actual disaster.”
