Education on Prevention of Gapjil, Enhancement of Gender Sensitivity, and Related Laws and Case Applications
The Muan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) conducted anti-corruption and integrity education as well as violence prevention education (sexual harassment and sexual violence) for county council members and public officials of the council secretariat at the Green Health Experience Center of the Muan County Health Center on the 18th.
According to the council on the 19th, this education was organized to raise awareness of integrity to eradicate workplace power abuse and prevent corruption, and to spread awareness of gender equality, thereby fostering a healthy organizational culture, as the importance of integrity values and gender awareness in the public service sector is increasingly emphasized.

The education took place from 1:00 PM to 5:40 PM, with a total of 36 participants including all county council members and public officials from the council secretariat.
The anti-corruption and integrity education was conducted first by inviting Attorney Ahn Young-jin, a registered professional instructor at the Integrity Training Institute, focusing on case studies related to the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and prevention of power abuse.
Following this, the violence prevention education, including sexual harassment, was conducted by inviting Professor Yang So-young, a registered professional instructor at the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, where participants learned about understanding gender-based violence, improving gender sensitivity, issues of workplace sexual harassment, and solutions, followed by a discussion session.
Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun, who organized the education, said, “I hope that through this education, a clean and sound organizational culture will take deep root in our council,” and added, “We will all strive together to make the Muan County Council, starting with the council members and senior officials leading by example, a council trusted by the residents.”
Meanwhile, this education is a legally mandated training conducted in accordance with the Act on the Prevention of Corruption and the Establishment and Operation of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and the Framework Act on Gender Equality.
