Dong-Eui Institute of Technology and Hotel Nongshim signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement on the 10th to foster local industry development.
This agreement was established to build an industry-academia cooperative system, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technology necessary for local industry development, and successfully promote the high-skilled work-study parallel program (P-TECH) in the Hotel Food and Beverage Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology.
Attending the signing ceremony were Lee Hwa-seok, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, Han Jin-sook, Head of the Department of Food Service Industry, Professor Park Chae-min of the Smart Food Cooking Department, Park Hoon, General Manager of Hotel Nongshim, Kim Dong-min, Deputy General Manager, Choi Jae-soo, Head of Management Support Team, Jeong Ho-jin, Head of Hotel F&B Team, Kim Kyung-soo, Head of HR and General Affairs, and about 10 others.
Representatives from the Department of Hotel Food and Beverage at Dong-Eui Science University and Hotel Nongshim are taking a commemorative photo after signing an agreement.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲support for field training and employment of outstanding students from related departments (fields) ▲cooperation in tasks related to industry-commissioned education ▲training practical talents through high-skilled work-study parallel programs ▲development of hotel food and beverage technology through industry-academia councils.
Additionally, ▲mutual use of facilities and equipment owned by both institutions ▲provision of technical information and research data ▲joint participation and support in educational projects ▲and support and cooperation in other matters related to industry-academia cooperation were agreed upon.
Hotel Nongshim started in 1960 in Dongnae-gu, Busan under the name ‘Dongnae Tourist Hotel’ and changed its name to ‘Hotel Nongshim’ in August 2002. It is a local enterprise in Busan with a long tradition and history, operating as a hot spring resort-style first-class hotel with 240 rooms.
Currently, since May 2022, it has been managed under Nongshim’s direct operation system by the hotel business division and operates the high-end hot spring facility ‘Heosimcheong’.
Lee Hwa-seok, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, “Through this agreement, students in the hotel food and beverage, cooking, and bakery fields will gain experience in various local industries and ultimately be connected to employment, helping them settle as local talents.”
