Pocheon Reservoir Crash Helicopter Pilot Found Dead On the morning of the 3rd, a private helicopter crashed at Gomori Reservoir in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, and the fire authorities are conducting a search operation.

On the morning of the 3rd, the pilot of a helicopter that crashed into Gomo Reservoir in Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, was found dead.


According to the fire authorities, the search team discovered the pilot, Mr. A, in his 60s, inside the submerged helicopter around 3 p.m. that day and is currently recovering the body.


The recovery operation is expected to take about 30 minutes to 1 hour.


Once Mr. A is recovered, the fire authorities plan to use heavy equipment to raise the helicopter and investigate the cause of the accident.


At around 11:08 a.m. that day, a report was received that a civilian helicopter had crashed at Gomo Reservoir in Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si.


The accident helicopter is a Hongik Aviation AS-350 (6-seater) model.


It is a helicopter leased by Pocheon-si from the 4th until the end of December to prepare for autumn forest fires.


It was operating on that day for a pre-flight equipment check one day before deployment to the site when the accident occurred.
