Students from the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology won awards at the "14th National Automobile Maintenance Skills Competition & Automobile Body Repair Competition."
Kwon Woo-sung, a first-year student in the Department of Electric Vehicles, participated in the National Automobile Body Repair Competition and received a silver prize in the body repair category.
Yoon Sang-hee, a fourth-year student, and Kim Jung-woo, a first-year student in the Department of Electric Vehicles, competed in the National Automobile Maintenance Skills Competition and won a special prize and an encouragement award in the automobile maintenance category, respectively, achieving a full sweep of awards.
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology explained that it is especially meaningful that students learning vehicle maintenance won awards in a competition where many current employees of major vehicle manufacturers participated.

Kwon Woo-sung, who received the silver prize, said, "I was able to participate in the competition with the support of my department, and winning an award made it an even more valuable experience," adding, "Thanks to the strong guidance of my advising professor and the systematic practical training at the university's workshop, I was able to achieve good results."
Professor Lee Jong-ho, the advisor and professor of the Department of Electric Vehicles, said, "I am proud and grateful to the students who devoted themselves to their studies despite the difficult learning environment after COVID-19."
He added, "Since the Department of Electric Vehicles was selected last year for the 'Work-Learning Dual System for College Students' supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, it has been solidifying its position as the top specialized automobile department in the southeastern region, nurturing future-oriented automotive field personnel."
Established in 1995, the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has trained over 5,000 specialized professionals in the automotive field to date.
The department is actively carrying out various workforce development projects, including the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Work-Learning Dual System for College Students,' the 'Cheonghaejin University Project,' the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Future-Oriented Automotive Field Workforce Development Project,' and Busan City's 'BB21+ Eco-Friendly Automotive Workforce Development Project.'
