Recently, the old money look, known as quiet luxury, has been gaining popularity, and DESTREE is at the center of this trend. The old money look refers to a fashion style that exudes a noble atmosphere, reflecting a wealthy family background passed down through generations.

DESTREE is a brand founded in 2016 by designer Geraldine Guiot, a graduate of Central Saint Martins in the UK, and Leticia Lombroso, a former couture executive at Christian Dior. Geraldine Guiot is also known as the daughter-in-law of Bernard Arnault, having married his second son, making DESTREE bags known as the bags made by Louis Vuitton’s daughter-in-law. In particular, the image of Lee Boo-jin, president of Hotel Shilla, carrying the bag became a hot topic, leading to the bag being nicknamed the ‘Lee Boo-jin bag.’

DESTREE started with hats and expanded to accessories such as bags and jewelry, and since 2022, it has also introduced women’s clothing. The brand is characterized by the absence of special logo decorations, drawing inspiration mainly from modern art, featuring European craft details, harmonious colors, and asymmetry.

The main product is the Gunter Passementerie Bag. The Gunter Passementerie Bag is a tote and shoulder bag that stands out as a craft piece resembling a rope coiled in a circular shape, and it can be seen at this popup store. In addition, the popup will showcase over 150 items, including various DESTREE bags, accessories such as Sonia Small Hoop Earrings, and 2023 FW women’s clothing products. To commemorate the popup, Lotte Department Store is also running an opening promotion offering a 30,000 KRW Lotte gift certificate for purchases over 600,000 KRW.

Jin Seung-hyun, head of the fashion division at Lotte Department Store, said, “The core of the old money look lies in the confidence and attitude of not needing to reveal what brand you are wearing or what bag you are carrying through logos. We hope people will know the fashion that suits them best beyond the brand and express their own taste, and that is why we decided to hold this DESTREE popup.”
