Recruitment for the 2nd Expedition Team of the 'DMZ Freedom and Peace March'

The government announced on the 21st that it will hold a 6-night, 7-day cross-country march starting with the departure ceremony of the 2nd march on the 18th of next month at the Unification Observatory in Goseong, Gangwon Province.

The "DMZ Freedom and Peace March" is organized to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the armistice, to feel the scars of war and the pain of division, to reflect on the value of 'freedom' that was protected at that time, and to revitalize the economy of border areas struggling with population decline. The march is jointly promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, four central government ministries, and three cities and provinces.

The 1st march was held successfully in two sessions over 12 nights and 13 days from July 3 to August 5, targeting 140 international students, university students, and youth from 16 countries. The 2nd march will be held in six sessions from September 18 to November 19, with a total of 420 participants, each session lasting 6 nights and 7 days.

In particular, participants in this march will have the opportunity to walk along the DMZ Peace Trail, explore ecological and security tourist sites, participate in local events, and communicate with residents, engaging in regional experience programs.
