Ministry of Agriculture Reports Issues with Muan-gun River Restoration Project, Files Complaint with Police

Construction Started Without Farmland Conversion

It has been reported that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs filed a complaint regarding the restoration project of the Sagyocheon ecological stream promoted by Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do.

According to Muan-gun on the 7th, the Ministry confirmed that the project commenced without converting farmland and reported it to the police.

This project, which started in 2020 with a total budget of 10.9 billion KRW (50% national funds and 50% county funds), involves creating water purification wetlands, ecological embankments, and ecological spaces along a 2.8 km section of the Sagyocheon waterfront, as well as maintaining the embankment.
