Motorcycle Goggles 'Smart Glass' Unveiled
Real-Time Display of Navigation, Speed, and More on Goggles
BMW Motorrad unveiled the motorcycle goggles 'ConnectedRide Smart Glasses' for the first time at the 'BMW Motorrad Days' held in Berlin, Germany.
The newly revealed smart glasses display various real-time information necessary during riding, such as navigation and vehicle speed, similar to a car's head-up display technology, helping ensure safe riding. Since various information appears on the goggles, motorcycle riders can receive route guidance while riding just like when driving a car.
The smart glasses can connect to a smartphone via a Bluetooth app. They also feature protection for eyesight against ultraviolet rays and provide separate lenses that can adjust vision up to approximately 4 diopters for those who normally wear glasses.
Additionally, BMW Motorrad stated that the smart glasses offer comfortable wear optimized for long-distance riding, as they can be adjusted to fit the rider's facial shape and helmet.
They charge via USB and have a maximum operating time of 10 hours. The product price is known to be 690 euros (approximately 980,000 KRW), and it is scheduled to be sold in Korea early next year.
