Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) will use the 10 million KRW raised through its comment donation campaign to support housing and dormitory expenses for youth preparing for independence.
GH conducted a three-week comment support campaign for youth preparing for independence from May 15, Adult Day, to June 4.
The campaign was held on GH's official Instagram, where GH donated 1,824 KRW per comment (representing the legal age range of 18 to 24 for youth preparing for independence) as a contribution.
GH introduced the difficulties faced by youth leaving protective facilities to prepare for independence and shared testimonials of those who received help through GH rental housing. GH President Kim Se-yong personally left encouraging messages to promote participation in the campaign.
As a result of the campaign, 4,789 people participated, raising a donation of 10 million KRW.
GH will use these funds to support moving expenses, real estate brokerage fees, and other housing costs for youth about to move, as well as dormitory fees for youth preparing to enter university dormitories.
Kim Se-yong, President of GH, said, "We sincerely support the youth who are about to start a new chapter of independence. We thank everyone who participated in this meaningful campaign and will continue to do our best to fulfill the social responsibilities of a public corporation by spreading a culture of sharing toward various social groups through donation campaigns using SNS."
GH plans to deliver the donation to the social welfare corporation 'Children and Future Foundation,' which will carry out support projects for youth preparing for independence.
