"We Diagnose Sick Trees"... Gangbuk-gu Operates Private Consulting System for Urban Tree Care

Seoul's Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced that it will operate the "Urban Tree Care Private Consulting System," where private tree care experts diagnose tree damage and issue prescriptions for urban green spaces until October.
The support targets multi-use urban green spaces such as school forests, social, welfare, and youth facilities. Privately owned green spaces, trees, and sites that do not meet the purpose of private consulting are excluded.
The private specialized company, Namu Hospital, diagnoses various diseases and pests occurring in trees, providing appropriate control methods, tree management techniques, and pesticide usage instructions, and issues prescriptions. However, tree treatment is not performed.
The consulting service is free of charge, supported by Gangbuk-gu and Seoul City. Tree management institutions receiving the consulting must cooperate by providing necessary materials, locations, and access for tree diagnosis.
Analysis data from the private consulting will be used in the future for the Korea Forest Service's forest pest policy materials and system improvements.
Those wishing to receive tree diagnosis can download the application form from the Gangbuk-gu website, fill it out, and submit it via email to the Parks and Greenery Division contact or inquire by phone. The support is limited to 12 cases and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu said, "Trees in urban areas easily weaken if not consistently managed due to diseases and pests. We hope many apply to this private consulting system so that trees in multi-use urban green spaces can become healthier."
