Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 11th that Lucy will become the first virtual human to sell artworks.
On the 12th, Lucy will introduce works by sculptor No Jun on the mobile TV channel L Live. During the broadcast, a total of 30 pieces?three new works from No Jun's "Wrinkles of Time" series, with 10 pieces each?will be sold. The program will cover not only the introduction of the artworks but also viewing points and interior decoration tips. No Jun is a popular artist known for sculpting animal characters resembling human forms, focusing on the theme of "restoration of relationships" between humans, animals, and nature.
Meanwhile, Lotte Homeshopping signed a business agreement with immersive content production company 4by4 in September last year and has been focusing on advancing Lucy to a human-like level. To enable real-time interactive communication, the latest specialized technologies such as visual effects (VFX) and real-time engines have been applied to Lucy. In the future, they plan to develop an original voice and realize a fully automated Lucy through AI technology.
A Lotte Homeshopping official said, "Lucy, who debuted as a show host last year, is entering the art sales market based on successful fashion product sales. We plan to implement a human-like Lucy through further technological advancement and sell products across various categories."
