Operation of Korean Pavilion at the World's Largest Bio and Pharmaceutical Exhibition
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korea Bio Association will participate in 'BIO USA 2023,' held in Boston, the center of the U.S. bio industry, from the 5th to the 8th, operating the Korea Pavilion. They will also jointly host the side event, 'Korea Bio-Tech Partnership 2023.'
BIO USA 2023 is the world's largest bio and pharmaceutical exhibition, held for the 31st time this year. The theme this year is 'Stand Up for Science,' emphasizing the value of biotechnology.
This year’s exhibition features about 9,100 companies from 85 countries, including Merck and Pfizer, showcasing innovative technologies and excellent products. Fourteen countries, including Korea, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany, will organize national pavilions at the exhibition. Eight U.S. states, including New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, will also participate with regional pavilions.
KOTRA and the Korea Bio Association, together with 15 domestic companies they support and the Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency, will present an integrated Korea Pavilion featuring a total of 20 bio and pharmaceutical companies. KOTRA will promote domestic companies’ products and technologies and support one-on-one consultations to help our companies find overseas partners.
On the afternoon of the 7th, KOTRA and the Korea Bio Association will hold Korea Bio-Tech Partnership 2023. The event will consist of talks, company pitching, panel discussions, and networking. Robert Langer, MIT professor and founder of Moderna, will attend and conduct a talk on 'Strengths and Prospects of Korean Biotechnology.' A pitching session featuring Korean innovative companies with excellent technologies will also follow.
Park Seong-ho, head of KOTRA’s North America regional office, said, "K-Bio, which has established itself as a future strategic industry in Korea, is at the point of leaping into the global market," adding, "We will support our companies to actively enter the U.S., the center of the bio market, through this event."
