Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 31st that it held an equestrian festival at Daegwang Beach in Imja-myeon from the 26th to the 28th (for 3 days).
The beach equestrian festival was held at Daegwang Beach on Imjado, a vast white sand beach 200m wide and 12km long, with 108 horses from across the country participating.
In particular, the event featured obstacle courses, endurance races, beach speed races, and equestrian experiences involving players, residents, and tourists together, as well as OX quizzes, craft experiences, health promotion, and local specialty promotions, transforming it from a simple equestrian competition into a festival that everyone could enjoy.
Hosted by the Korea Equestrian Federation and sponsored by Jeollanam-do and Shinan-gun, this event served as an opportunity to promote Imja Beach, which boasts a natural environment ideal for equestrian activities, nationwide and to establish its position as a center of the equestrian industry, while widely promoting Shinan-gun’s local specialties and tourist resources.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “We welcome the equestrians who visited Shinan Imjado,” and added, “We will actively promote after-school programs for students and experiential support for students in island areas to help revitalize equestrian activities.”
