U.S. President Joe Biden is scheduled to hold talks at the White House with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who will visit the United States next month, the White House announced on the 30th (local time).
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated in a press release that "President Biden looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Sunak, who will make an Official Working Visit to the United States on the 8th of next month, to further deepen the close and historic partnership between the two countries."
Press Secretary Jean-Pierre explained, "The two leaders will discuss a range of global issues, including steadfast support for Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia's brutal war of aggression, additional measures to strengthen energy security, and addressing the climate crisis. They will also discuss efforts to continuously strengthen our economic relationship in the face of shared economic and national security challenges."
This will be Prime Minister Sunak's first visit to the White House since taking office in October last year. Previously, the two leaders held a bilateral meeting during the AUKUS (United States, United Kingdom, Australia security alliance) summit held in San Diego, U.S., in March.
