Samsung SDS announced on the 11th that it will jointly develop and sell a global procurement supply chain management SaaS (Software as a Service) solution with the U.S. supply chain platform company o9 Solutions and the domestic procurement supply chain management company Emro.

Supply chain management has emerged as a core factor of corporate competitiveness due to the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing geopolitical risks, and companies' demand for excellent solutions is also growing.

The three companies, including Samsung SDS, plan to complete the solution development within this year and secure customers from 2024 to grow it into a leading global solution.

Samsung SDS secured a procurement supply chain management solution by acquiring shares of Emro in March, and through this collaboration, it has also secured o9 Solutions' global SaaS platform and global business network.

o9 Solutions has been able to expand its business area by additionally integrating the procurement supply chain management solution into its 'o9 Digital Platform.' Furthermore, it can strengthen global competitiveness through the organic combination of existing supply chain planning solutions and procurement supply chain management solutions.

Through this collaboration, Emro has been able to secure a global sales and implementation network, which was considered a limitation when domestic solution companies entered overseas markets. It is expected to become a successful case of Korean software entering the global market.

Hwang Sung-woo, CEO of Samsung SDS, said, "This strategic collaboration among the three companies has created a trident to overcome the geopolitical risks faced by global companies," adding, "It is a perfect strategic combination that combines the strengths of the three companies."

Chakri Gatemukala, co-founder and CEO of o9 Solutions, explained, "The importance of global supply chain management is becoming more critical than ever, and co-growth and ESG collaboration among companies are urgently needed," and added, "To respond to these market trends, we have proceeded with collaboration on an integrated supply chain platform business."

Song Jae-min, CEO of Emro, said, "We are pleased to become one of the pillars responsible for entering the global market with Samsung SDS and o9 Solutions," and stated, "We will become a leading company not only in the domestic market but also in the global market in the future."
