Real Estate Planet, a big data and AI-based commercial real estate specialist company, announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with GS Engineering & Construction to jointly develop a rooftop solar power generation project.

This agreement between the two companies is a renewable energy project aligned with the government's 2050 carbon neutrality policy. It plans to contribute to the achievement of domestic RE100 (100% renewable energy procurement for electricity use) companies' goals.

GS Engineering & Construction will build solar power generation systems by utilizing idle roofs of factories or buildings. Since it uses existing sites, it has minimal impact on the surrounding landscape or environment, and participating building owners can earn stable long-term rental income without additional capital or manpower investment.

Real Estate Planet supports building owners who want to install solar power generation facilities on their roofs by allowing them to check rental solar installation conditions and request on-site inspections through the official website and mobile app.

According to Real Estate Planet, this project is expected to attract significant interest from building owners wishing to lease their roofs, as GS Engineering & Construction will handle investment and project funding in bulk, eliminating the initial investment burden for building owners.

A GS Engineering & Construction official said, “Through this business agreement, we have taken the first step in the rooftop solar power generation business, which actively utilizes solar energy, known as the future clean energy. We will continue to discover eco-friendly new business opportunities necessary to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.”

Jung Soo-min, CEO of Real Estate Planet, said, “We are pleased to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy for achieving carbon neutrality through cooperation with GS Engineering & Construction,” adding, “Since it is convenient to inquire about participation availability in the project through the Real Estate Planet platform, we expect it to be helpful to many who wish to engage in solar power generation projects.”
