MyBach EQS SUV Unveiled at Shanghai Motor Show
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Maybach EQS SUV, the first all-electric vehicle under the Mercedes-Maybach brand, for the world premiere at 2 p.m. (local time) on the 17th at the Shanghai Motor Show in China.
The exterior of the Maybach EQS 680 SUV combines the distinctive designs of Maybach and Mercedes electric vehicles. The front features the black panel radiator grille typical of Mercedes electric cars, with chrome-trimmed vertical strips as a signature element. The Maybach brand emblem and lettering are engraved in various parts of the vehicle, including the rear passenger door sides. The wheels are finished with high-gloss black cladding and come in sizes of 21 or 22 inches.
Inside, the front seats are equipped with the MBUX Hyperscreen, which merges three displays into one. Upon entering, a specially designed exclusive start screen appears just for this vehicle. A separate Maybach mode can be set within the instrument cluster. The seats are upholstered in exclusive Maybach Nappa leather in Espresso Brown and Balao Brown Pearl colors as standard.
The rear seats are described by Mercedes as offering a luxurious lounge-like experience. They include ventilation, massage, and neck and shoulder heating functions, just like the front seats. When the reclining function is selected, the front passenger seat automatically moves forward. The rear entertainment system includes two 11.6-inch Full HD touchscreens as part of the MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment system, along with a 7-inch MBUX rear seat tablet as standard.
The vehicle’s driving performance boasts a maximum output of 484 kW and a peak torque of 950 Nm. It is equipped with air suspension that can raise the vehicle height by up to 35 mm depending on driving speed. Rear axle steering with a maximum steering angle of 4.5° is also included. Driving modes can be selected from Eco, Sport, Off-road, and Individual. The Maybach driving program replaces the Comfort driving mode.
