Dong-A University Establishes Offshore Wind Power Course... Collaborates to Foster Future Energy Talent

Busan Offshore Wind Power and Corio Generation MOU

Dong-A University has launched a talent development cooperation project, including the establishment of an offshore wind power course.


The Department of Environmental and Energy Engineering, Major in Future Energy Engineering at Dong-A University recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for industry-academia cooperation with Busan Offshore Wind Power and Corio Generation.


Through this agreement, the three institutions agreed to join forces to build an industry-academia cooperation program for the offshore wind power project underway in Dadaepo, Saha-gu, Busan, and to nurture local talent. They also agreed to continue cooperating to create quality jobs.


The signing ceremony held at Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus was attended by Department Head Cha Jong-moon, Busan Offshore Wind Power CEO Park Sung-jae, and Corio Korea CEO Choi Woo-jin.

According to the agreement, Dong-A University plans to share necessary materials with Corio for education and internship operations and to establish a new curriculum related to offshore wind power.


They also plan to develop and operate educational programs in carbon neutrality and renewable energy in connection with the "Greenhouse Gas Reduction Innovative Talent Development Project," jointly promoted by Dong-A University and Korea Maritime and Ocean University.


Busan Offshore Wind Power will carry out and support various programs related to industry-academia cooperation. Corio will plan and operate internship and offshore wind power education programs and prepare long-term support programs for nurturing local talent.


Department Head Cha Jong-moon emphasized, "The MOU with Corio and Busan Offshore Wind Power is a great opportunity for students majoring in Future Energy Engineering, who aim to reduce greenhouse gases and develop sustainable future energy, to leap forward as professional engineers with global competitiveness."


CEO Choi Woo-jin said, "We are pleased to collaborate with Dong-A University, a leading private university in Busan, to nurture offshore wind power local talent specialized in Busan," adding, "We will strive to systematically cultivate local talent in the offshore wind power sector and create an offshore wind power industry ecosystem where manpower circulates positively."


CEO Park Sung-jae stated, "We will ensure that the Dadaepo offshore wind power project, promoted through cooperation between companies and universities, becomes a community-friendly project that coexists with residents and contributes to the local economy."
