Incheon City Conducts Comprehensive Survey of Illegal Garbage Dumping Vulnerable Areas for Intensive Management

Incheon City has decided to conduct a comprehensive survey of areas with habitual illegal dumping of garbage to manage vulnerable areas more thoroughly.

The city announced that it will conduct a full survey of cleaning-vulnerable areas within the region by the 21st of next month to create a clean and pleasant city. The survey will focus on vulnerable areas for illegal dumping such as back alleys in residential areas, side roads, vacant lots, and under bridges.

Based on the survey results, the city, along with county/district and town/township/neighborhood offices, will organize environmental patrols and mobile response teams to continuously conduct environmental patrols and garbage collection at least once a week. During this process, if illegal dumping is detected, strong measures will be taken in accordance with the Waste Management Act and other relevant laws.

The city also plans to establish a permanent cleaning system in cooperation with related organizations such as the Road and Port Authority for blind spots where garbage disposal responsibility is unclear and management is difficult, including highway entry and exit sections, under bridges, river and port boundaries, and county/district boundary areas.

Support for installing CCTV to monitor vulnerable areas and illegal dumping will also be expanded.

An Incheon City official stated, "We will manage the cleaning-vulnerable areas thoroughly until they are resolved to create a clean and pleasant city," and urged, "We ask for the active cooperation of citizens to eradicate illegal dumping of garbage."
