Digital therapeutics (DTx) company Hi announced on the 28th that it will carry out the AI-based cognitive enhancement program "Jeonhwaro Toktok" aimed at early detection of dementia and overcoming mild cognitive impairment (MCI) for citizens aged 60 and over in Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do, in collaboration with the Suncheon Dementia Safety Center and the Digital Therapeutics Social Cooperative.
The Jeonhwaro Toktok project utilizes "Saemitok," an AI-based cognitive enhancement program developed by Hi. Saemitok, which can be accessed by adding it as a friend on KakaoTalk, consists of 15 games designed to improve memory, language ability, concentration, calculation skills, visuospatial ability, and executive function. Additionally, the "Smart Masilbang" provides a community for elderly individuals to interact as life partners through real-time chat, supporting emotional care for seniors.
This project, targeting 800 Suncheon citizens aged 60 and above, successfully recruited over 800 participants amid high interest. The program will run for six months, and outstanding participants will be awarded Suncheon Love Gift Certificates. To promote the program, the Suncheon Dementia Safety Center visited places where seniors gather, such as golf clubs, welfare centers, and gateball courts, to conduct dementia screening tests and explain how to use the cognitive enhancement program.
A Suncheon city official stated, "We will actively operate this project to create a dementia-safe Suncheon City through the AI-based dementia prevention program and improve the quality of life for our elderly citizens." The official also requested, "We ask local residents to show great interest in creating a dementia-friendly environment and improving dementia awareness." Kim Jin-woo, CEO of Hi, said, "This is the first successful case of our dementia prevention program, whose effectiveness has been proven through various pilot projects." He added, "We will continue to expand collaborations with various local governments and public institutions."
