Gwangyang Police Hold Meeting to Establish Public Safety Infrastructure

Citizen-Police Collaboration, Installation of CCTV for Socially Vulnerable Groups, etc.

Gwangyang Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Jung Jae-bong) held a meeting on March 21 at 10 a.m. in the large auditorium on the 4th floor of the police station, attended by 35 people including police officers and citizens, to discuss the establishment of security infrastructure (crime prevention CCTV).

The meeting aimed to form a local community through public-private-police cooperation, as expanding CCTV coverage in facilities related to socially vulnerable groups (kindergartens, senior welfare facilities, and other crime prevention facilities) is essential for improving residential conditions, creating a crime prevention environment, and enhancing the regional safety index.

Additionally, the meeting provided information on the 2022 crime prevention environment improvement project cases and the 2023 plans for expanding crime prevention facilities, and included a time for communication to discuss directions for collaborative customized security policies for future generations and socially vulnerable groups.

Lee Baek-gu, chairman of the Gwangyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “It was a meaningful time to share police security activities with citizens and prepare cooperation measures. Please listen to and reflect the vivid voices of citizens to create a safe Gwangyang City.”

Police Chief Jung Jae-bong stated, “Through citizen-police cooperation, we will actively respond by promoting CCTV installation projects in necessary locations to protect socially vulnerable groups, ensuring that no security blind spots occur where residents suffer crime damage or feel anxiety due to geographical or environmental factors.”
