Jung Eui-sun Receives 10.6 Billion Won, Koo Kwang-mo 9.4 Billion Won
Last year, the highest annual salary among business conglomerate heads was that of Lee Jae-hyun, Chairman of CJ Group.
According to the 2022 business reports of each company on the 21st, Chairman Lee received a total of 22.136 billion KRW, including 10.644 billion KRW from the holding company, 7.294 billion KRW from CJ CheilJedang, and 4.198 billion KRW from CJ ENM. This amount represents a 1.3% increase compared to the previous year (21.861 billion KRW).
Shin Dong-bin, Chairman of Lotte Group, was reported to have received 5.406 billion KRW last year from three affiliates: Lotte Confectionery, Lotte Chilsung, and Lotte Shopping. Currently, four affiliates?Lotte Chemical, Hotel Lotte, Lotte Property & Development, and Lotte Holdings?have yet to disclose their business reports, so the actual annual salary is expected to be higher.
Jung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, received 10.626 billion KRW last year. Chairman Jung earned 7.01 billion KRW from Hyundai Motor and 3.625 billion KRW from Hyundai Mobis. Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group, received a total of 9.478 billion KRW last year, including a salary of 4.627 billion KRW and bonuses of 4.851 billion KRW from LG. This is a 7.4% increase compared to the previous year (8.826 billion KRW).
Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group, and his eldest son Kim Dong-kwan, Vice Chairman, received 9 billion KRW and 7.5 billion KRW respectively last year. Heo Chang-soo, Honorary Chairman of GS Group, received a total of 7.679 billion KRW last year, including 1.556 billion KRW from GS, and a salary of 2.41 billion KRW and bonuses of 3.713 billion KRW from GS Engineering & Construction. Heo Tae-soo, CEO and Chairman of GS, received a total of 6.716 billion KRW last year, including a salary of 2.643 billion KRW and bonuses of 4.073 billion KRW from GS.
Cho Won-tae, Chairman of Hanjin Group, received 5.18 billion KRW in compensation last year. Chairman Cho earned 2.387 billion KRW from Korean Air and 2.796 billion KRW from Hanjin KAL. Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, received 3.5 billion KRW in compensation from the holding company SK last year. Although Chairman Chey also receives compensation from SK Hynix, the exact amount is unknown as he is not among the top five highest-paid executives there.
