The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is organizing sessions where children can read books with children's literature authors and engage in discussions, debates, and writing activities to enhance their thinking skills.
On the 17th, the Busan Office of Education announced that from April to November, it will operate the "2023 Happy Writing with Authors" program for 100 classes of 4th to 6th grade elementary students.
This program involves 50 children's literature authors from the Busan Children's Literature Association visiting schools to conduct reading discussions, debates, writing activities with students, and assist with career exploration.
Classes wishing to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the education office's work portal system by 4 p.m. on the 20th, with priority given to schools with fewer students.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "During elementary education, not only academic ability but also comprehension, logical thinking, and reasoning skills develop, so reading and writing are important. We will expand various reading experience opportunities so that our growing children can discover the joy of reading and achieve their dreams."
