Lotte Mart announced on the 26th that it has introduced a membership service called 'Snow Point' that enhances benefits for loyal customers. This is an attempt to strengthen offline competitiveness by providing differentiated membership services that focus more on loyal consumers.


Snow Point grades (MVG, VIP, GOLD, ACE) are determined based on the cumulative purchase amount over the past six months. The point accumulation rate varies by grade and purchase amount. The system is designed so that the more loyal customers purchase, the higher the point accumulation rate. Points can be accumulated up to 30,000 KRW per day and can be used at Lotte Mart offline stores for up to 180 days from the purchase date. L.POINT, a point system that can be accumulated and used across all Lotte Group affiliates, is accumulated at a rate of 0.1% regardless of grade.


Last month, Lotte Mart introduced this service to members of the offline-only application 'Lotte Mart GO'. Since then, the number of new Lotte Mart GO members has increased more than threefold compared to the previous year over about two months. The cumulative number of customers who accumulated Snow Points approached 2 million. Amid high inflation and the app-tech craze, the Lotte Mart GO app and Snow Point became a hot topic in app-tech related communities. Lotte Mart explained that it reviewed various measures considering the number of customers by grade, purchasing behavior patterns, and store visit frequency to reform the point system. Test operations were also conducted at about 20 stores nationwide since October 2021.


After joining Lotte Mart GO, when paying at Lotte Mart offline stores, scanning the barcode within the app accumulates Snow Points, which can be used immediately in the store.


Also, using the Snow Point character 'Nunmungjji', which symbolizes benefits growing like a snowball, various promotions and content are being introduced. For the month of February, three bakery products decorated with Nunmungjji will be sold. They can be found at 36 stores including Lotte Mart Zetaflex, Bakery Factory, and Petit Pommier until the 28th.
