Until the Day You Discover Your Coffee Preference★
For modern people, a cup of coffee has become a necessity rather than a choice. What do you usually order at a cafe? With so many options like a light yet not sweet Americano, a nutty latte, caffeine-free drinks, or refreshing ade, it can be quite a dilemma. Sometimes, the temptation of a new menu item sparks the desire to try it at least once. However, there is one menu item that always piqued my curiosity whenever I visit Starbucks. It’s called ‘Coffee of the Day’, and a coffee-loving friend once said, “I discovered my coffee preference by drinking the Coffee of the Day.” Intrigued by this story, I gathered four types of Coffee of the Day to satisfy my curiosity. As an editor who likes coffee but doesn’t know much about its taste, here is my cute little review?feel free to read it lightly.
El Salvador Ahuachap?n
A coffee full of balanced flavors with sweet cashew and citrus aroma, finishing with roasted cocoa beans. Acidity 3, body 2.
For an editor who usually prefers nutty coffee over acidic ones, it wasn’t unpleasant enough to frown at. Just when I thought, ‘Oh, there’s a slight acidity,’ the taste finishes with a sweet aroma. Since the acidity level is 3, it didn’t feel too strong. The body is light and refreshing, like drip coffee, but the aroma coming from the coffee is quite rich.
Kenya
A coffee with the scent and mystery of tropical fruits, giving a clean juice-like feeling. Acidity 4, body 3.
Even if you don’t know much about coffee, you’ve probably heard of Kenya beans. Kenya beans are widely used not only at Starbucks but also at other franchises and independent cafes, making it a commonly enjoyed flavor. The acidity is rated 4 out of 5, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly strong from start to finish, so it was easy to enjoy. A slight acidity lingers at the finish, which reminded me of the taste of Starbucks’ basic iced Americano.
Veranda
A subtle blend with a soft and friendly character. Acidity 3, body 2.
Veranda is a pass for an editor who likes coffee with low acidity and moderate body♥ It’s a coffee you can find anywhere, but inside it has a soft yet rich coffee aroma that can be enjoyed without any strong likes or dislikes. It feels soft and mild, and although the body is rated 2, it is by no means light.
Byuldabang Blend
A special coffee made just for Korea that you can’t help but love. A unique bean only available at Starbucks Coffee Korea. Acidity 3, body 3.
Starbucks is enjoyed worldwide, but among the common beans, the Byuldabang Blend is a unique bean you can only taste in Korea. Made to suit Korean preferences, it boasts a distinctive flavor loved by both those who enjoy acidity and those who do not. When I, an editor who doesn’t prefer acidity, tasted it, I thought, ‘I can quite feel it; it has a fairly rich sensation.’ A friend who prefers acidity said it was ‘just right’ and gave a satisfying review.
Starbucks Coffee of the Day beans vary by store. Since the extraction methods for hot and iced coffee differ, the beans for HOT and ICE may also differ, so keep this in mind! This concludes the review of Starbucks Coffee of the Day, where you can enjoy a variety of coffees★
