Affair with Over 20 Top Models Over 26 Years
Colleagues Say "Not a Crime but Unpleasant"
Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio (48) has been caught up in dating rumors with a 19-year-old woman. In response, fellow entertainers including actors and comedians have publicly criticized him.
Recently, DiCaprio was spotted sitting alongside 19-year-old Israeli model Eden Polani at singer Ebony Riley's new album release party. Local media flooded reports suggesting that Polani might be DiCaprio's new girlfriend.
Comedian Katherine Ryan quoted a tweet by lawyer and Cambridge Queens College researcher Charlotte Friedman on her Twitter, stating, "The public is not criticizing DiCaprio's history with women," and expressed her displeasure by saying, "It's not a crime, but it's creepy."
Charlotte Friedman also criticized in an article for the British media Newsweek, saying, "It is very concerning that men openly admit they want to sleep with teenagers." Friedman added, "Despite the disgusting age gap, women refrain from criticizing this point because they fear being labeled as jealous."
Ulrika Johnson, a Swedish model and weathercaster, also publicly criticized through the British media The Sun, saying, "I understand well how difficult it is to resist the glamour of a Hollywood star," but added, "However, I cannot understand a young woman becoming the lover of a man old enough to be her father. Most people find this DiCaprio situation unpleasant and disgusting."
DiCaprio's consistent preference for women has long been a topic of gossip among enthusiasts. Over his 26-year career, he has been rumored to date more than 20 women, most of whom were tall, blonde, blue-eyed models in their twenties.
Top models known to be DiCaprio's ex-girlfriends include Gisele B?ndchen, Blake Lively, Erin Heatherton, Toni Garrn, Nina Agdal, and Camila Morrone.
Exceptions include relatively ordinary-looking actress Claire Danes and Jamaican black model Naomi Campbell. Moreover, as DiCaprio, born in 1974, has aged, the age gap with women in their twenties has continued to widen.
Subsequently, foreign media quoted a close acquaintance of DiCaprio saying, "It is foolish to judge based on a single photo. They just happened to sit next to each other." However, neither DiCaprio nor Polani have yet made an official statement.
