NCSoft Reports Operating Profit of 559 Billion KRW Last Year, Up 49% YoY (Comprehensive)

NCSoft announced on the 8th that its consolidated operating profit for last year was tentatively estimated at 559 billion KRW, a 49% increase compared to the previous year.

Revenue rose 11.4% year-on-year to 2.5718 trillion KRW. Net profit increased by 14.4% to 452.6 billion KRW.

Operating profit for the fourth quarter was 47.4 billion KRW, down 56.7% compared to the same period last year. Revenue and net loss were 547.9 billion KRW and 16.5 billion KRW, respectively.

NCSoft explained that the factors contributing to the revenue increase were the growth in mobile game sales and the efficiency of marketing expenses.

NCSoft plans to hold a shareholders' meeting on the 29th of next month to approve agenda items including the appointment of Choi Jae-cheon, Chair Professor of the Department of Eco-Science at Ewha Womans University, as an outside director, and Jung Gyo-hwa, Head of Policy and Legal Affairs at Netflix Korea, as an audit committee member.
