[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] Boseong Industrial recently announced on the 8th that it has recruited former First Vice Minister of Strategy and Finance Ko Hyung-kwon as the Chairman of the Investment Attraction Committee.
Former Vice Minister Ko graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Economics and entered public service through the 30th Administrative Examination. He is an economic expert who has served as Director General of the Policy Coordination Bureau and Director General of the Planning and Coordination Office at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Director at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), First Vice Minister of Strategy and Finance, Ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and Chairman of the Pension Board.
Boseong Industrial expects to accelerate the promotion of large-scale projects such as Solarsido, Sejong and Busan Smart Cities, Saemangeum, and Cheongna Financial District by leveraging former Vice Minister Ko’s extensive experience and global network. In particular, the Solarsido development project, which is gaining attention as the optimal site for achieving RE100 in Korea, is expected to gain further momentum.
At a meeting with Boseong Industrial executives and employees, former Vice Minister Ko said, "Let us make the Solarsido project a successful model for achieving carbon neutrality and responding to regional extinction."
