[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Oh Miseop, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, announced on the 5th that the 'Ordinance on the Operation of Seo-gu Council Debates, etc.' was passed in the standing committee.

This ordinance was enacted to establish an institutional foundation for the council to listen to and collect opinions from district residents on current issues by stipulating necessary matters for the operation of debates, etc., held by the council.

At a time when the legislative policy function of local councils is being emphasized following the revision of the Local Autonomy Act early last year, it is expected that the role of the council as a policy legislative public forum will be revitalized through activities such as operating debates in the council, listening to voices from the field on local issues, and reflecting them in legislative activities.

The ordinance specifies ▲ principles for operating debates, etc. ▲ progress and management ▲ reflection of results ▲ actual expense compensation, detailing specific operational plans and utilization of results related to holding debates, etc.
