Entered Two Major Open Markets... 670 Million KRW Sales in 3 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The joint online sales brand 'Incheon Jikgu,' managed by small and medium manufacturing companies and small business owners in the Incheon area, is leading the expansion of sales of Incheon-manufactured products through entry into major domestic open markets (online marketplaces).
According to Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) on the 26th, Incheon Jikgu has been selling a variety of products covering about 10,000 items from 600 companies manufacturing and selling in Incheon since April 2021 through the operation of the closed mall on the Eum Card app.
Additionally, to establish nationwide sales channels, from September to October last year, Incheon Jikgu halls have been operated on the major domestic open markets '11st' and 'Timon,' respectively. The two Incheon Jikgu halls, handling about 2,500 items from 110 companies in the Incheon area, recorded sales of approximately 670 million KRW over three months.
During this period, Incheon Jikgu attracted consumer interest by organizing various events such as permanent hall opening ceremonies, O2O (online-to-offline linked marketing) sales exhibitions connected with the Korea Excellent Products Exhibition, and the Incheon Jikgu Sale Festa. Main advertisements and deal slot exposures for tenant companies, discount coupons, and promotions also contributed.
D Chamgireum (Sesame Oil) achieved sales of about 50 million KRW in one week during the O2O sales exhibition linked with the Korea Excellent Products Exhibition at the end of October last year. Also, Company S sold out Ganghwado Hanwoo (Korean beef) products in one hour through a live broadcast in November last year, recording sales of over 40 million KRW.
Incheon TP plans to open another Incheon Jikgu hall on a major open market around March.
