Parents are protesting after an instructor at a cultural center operated by a large corporation evaluated and recorded children's appearances.

The issue arose when a parent who brought their 14-month-old son to a cultural center run by a large supermarket in Seoul on the 10th discovered an attendance sheet that commented on the children's appearances.

The instructor of a three-month course related to childcare and play for children wrote notes next to the children's names on the attendance sheet such as "ugly," "only eyes are pretty," "mom is chubby," "looks like an adult," "small eyes," "white," "wanders around," "big face," and "small and pretty face."

When the parent confronted the instructor, they reportedly explained that the notes were written to remember the children's faces. The cultural center immediately excluded the instructor from classes upon learning of the incident. They also stated that, according to customer requests, they will offer substitute instructors or full refunds.
