VAT Korea announced on the 16th that it will relocate to a new headquarters in Dongtan, Gyeonggi-do, for its second leap forward amid business expansion.
VAT Korea, the domestic branch of the Swiss VAT Group which dominates the global vacuum valve market with over 70% market share, has contributed to the development of the Korean economy for 20 years since its establishment in 2004 as a key partner in major national industries such as semiconductors, displays, and particle accelerator projects through vacuum technology.
This relocation is part of VAT Korea's business strategy to diversify its core business of vacuum valve sales and related business service models, expand its domestic service center into a state-of-the-art facility at the request of major Korean clients, and enhance the long-awaited local engineering services for customers.
The new headquarters is located in The First Tower Phase 2 in Dongtan, Gyeonggi-do, the center of Korea's semiconductor industry. The 4th floor houses the Korean branch office, service center, and engineering lab, while the 10th floor contains the customer training center.
Despite the COVID-19 situation last year, VAT Korea showed steady growth and achieved its highest sales record since the establishment of the Korean branch, reaching 138.8 billion KRW. Additionally, to strengthen services provided to domestic clients, the company increased its engineering staff by more than 20% compared to the same period last year.
At SEMICON Korea 2023 held in February, VAT Korea plans to introduce not only the high-performance vacuum valves it has introduced domestically so far but also focus on the new business area of motion components, showcasing the evolution of its business domain as a vacuum solutions company.
Jeon Myung-ha, CEO of VAT Korea, stated, "With the relocation to the new Dongtan headquarters, I am confident that VAT Korea’s employees will unite, communicate, and create synergy." He added, "Although the global economic situation and semiconductor industry outlook for 2023 are not bright, as we stand at the starting point of a new leap, we will devote all our capabilities with our employees to ensure that today’s relocation leads to the success of our domestic clients."
