[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The Imsil County Forestry Cooperative in Jeonbuk (Chairman Moon Yong-woon) held the 'January Forest Management Guidance Day' event on the 10th to increase forestry income.
According to the Imsil County Forestry Cooperative on the 11th, this event included education on chestnut trees such as chestnut grafting practice and cultivation methods.
In particular, grafting requires skilled techniques from the grafter, making it a difficult forestry skill for many foresters. However, this education was held with the purpose of lowering the accessibility to grafting and enabling many foresters to acquire grafting skills and apply them in the forestry field.
Forester Kang, who attended the education, said, "I usually wanted to graft the Fordan variety but was reluctant due to lack of knowledge about grafting. Through this education, I was able to acquire grafting skills, so it was a very beneficial training," and added, "I am deeply grateful that the cooperative held education that is practically needed by foresters."
Moon Yong-woon, chairman of the Imsil County Forestry Cooperative, said, "We will continue to consider ways to improve the rights and income of forest owners and cooperative members within Imsil County and provide many programs that can be of practical help to foresters."
