Work·Life·Rest: Busan Enjoyed in Daily Life, Recognized for Brand Value
On the 25th, Busan City received the 'Grand Prize in the Global Tourism City Brand Management Category' at the 2022 TV Chosun Management Awards.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City received the 'Grand Prize in Global Tourism City Brand Management' at the '2022 TV Chosun Management Awards' held at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul at 11 a.m. on the 25th.
The city recently discovered Busan-exclusive content reflecting new innovative tourism trends such as workation, global intellectual property (IP), and gourmet food, gaining recognition for the brand value of 'Busan, a global tourism city where you enjoy Work, Live, and Play in everyday life.'
In particular, the award was attributed in part to Busan's multifaceted efforts to become a world-class workation city by identifying 'workation,' which has rapidly emerged as a new trend after COVID-19, as a new growth engine for Busan tourism, creating workspaces with convenient business environments and beautiful ocean views filled with romance, and providing various benefits to companies participating in workation.
Along with this award, Busan City has attracted 'Arte Museum,' 'Baby Shark Hometown Busan Project,' Kakao Friends' 'Ryan Holiday,' and Monolith's '9.81 Park' this year alone, all based on global tourism content intellectual property (IP). Major international media such as National Geographic have been intensively introducing Busan's charm, continuing its reputation as a global tourism city.
Lee Byung-jin, Busan City Deputy Mayor, said, "This award is another great achievement following Busan's selection as one of the world's top 25 travel destinations by the world-renowned travel magazine National Geographic Traveler. Recently, major international media outlets have been eagerly introducing Busan's charm, and global intellectual property (IP) content is sending love calls to Busan," adding, "These phenomena will greatly contribute to attracting the 2030 Busan World Expo, and we will continue to further solidify the status of Busan as a global tourism city."
