[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Port Authority (BPA) held a session on the 24th to share information about Busan Port's excellent infrastructure, port development plans, and operational status with a delegation of senior officials from the Asian Development Bank and the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry's Industrial Promotion Agency, who visited to benchmark Busan Port.

The visiting delegation showed interest in Busan Port, South Korea's number one port and a global transshipment hub, highly appreciating the continuous port infrastructure development projects and the North Port redevelopment project, and discussed future continuous cooperation plans regarding Indian port operations and development.

India is a major trading partner, ranking tenth in container cargo volume handled at Busan Port. Despite the recent global trade slowdown and intensified inflation, the transshipment cargo volume between Busan Port and India increased by 7.3% cumulatively as of October.
