[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Gmarket and Auction announced on the 9th that they are conducting a donation campaign to share with neighbors and selling major grocery items at the lowest price levels.
The campaign, called the ‘Love’s New Rice 1000 Bags Donation Project,’ runs until the 11th at the ‘Price Stabilization Pavilion,’ where for every 100 bags of rice sold, one 20kg bag of new rice is accumulated and donated. The goal is to donate 1000 bags, and the collected new rice will be delivered to the Milal Welfare Foundation to be distributed to elderly living alone, children suffering from food insecurity, and single-mother households. As of the previous day, a total of 50,000 bags of rice have been sold, accumulating 500 bags of Love’s New Rice.
Not only new rice but also major grocery items are offered at the lowest price levels. In particular, by using the ‘12 Days of Sale’ exclusive discount coupon together with overlapping discount coupons, customers can purchase items at a 15-30% discounted price. The special rice product ‘Gyeonggimi Chucheong Akkibare’ can be purchased at the industry’s lowest price of 39,000 KRW when all coupons are applied.
Additionally, ‘Nonghyup Yeongam Joeun Rice’ and ‘Imsil Nonghyup Jinju-Dalmeun Rice’ are offered at the lowest price levels. For pickled napa cabbage products, ‘Farmer’s Dream Haenam Pickled Napa Cabbage,’ ‘Joeun Haenam Pickled Napa Cabbage,’ and ‘GAP Certified Pickled Napa Cabbage’ are proposed at discounted prices. Fifteen representative grocery items also challenge the lowest prices. From livestock products such as ‘Hongcheon Hanwoo Village Hanwoo Ribeye’ and ‘Harim Chicken for Braised Chicken Stew’ to seafood products like ‘Domestic Beopseongpo Yeonggwang Dried Yellow Croaker,’ ‘Taean Wild Live Blue Crab,’ and fruits such as ‘Sugar-Selected Gyulrojangsaeng Early Tangerines’ and ‘Fresh Busa Medium Apples’ are prepared.
Im Hakjin, Head of Gmarket Mart Business Division, said, “We are conducting a rice donation project for vulnerable groups through the Price Stabilization Pavilion to help reduce customers’ living expenses throughout the year,” and added, “We hope many people will take interest as they can find various foods at the lowest prices and participate in donations at the same time.”
