TIPA Provides 'Safety Package Service' Support to Local SMEs for Two Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced on the 27th that it is supporting the 'Safety Package Service' for the second consecutive year in collaboration with Korea Nuclear Fuel Co., Ltd. to assist SMEs located in areas vulnerable to safety accidents.

The Safety Package Service is a comprehensive service designed to create a safe working environment for SMEs by supporting everything from identifying inspection targets to safety inspections, education, and donation of supplies. This initiative is jointly promoted by the 'Public Institution Innovation Network,' which consists of public institutions in the Daejeon and Sejong regions.

Last year, TIPA supported the Safety Package Service by donating industrial first aid kits for manufacturing workers to GL Tech Co., Ltd., a semiconductor measurement equipment manufacturer.

For this year's support, TIPA selected Yudam Co., Ltd., an SME located in Cheonan City. Yudam Co., Ltd. is a dairy processing company that has previously participated in TIPA-supported industry-academia-research cooperation technology development projects.

Through the Safety Package Service for two consecutive years, TIPA has contributed to establishing workplace safety management systems by discovering SMEs located in the region. In addition, together with Korea Nuclear Fuel Co., Ltd., TIPA visited Yudam Co., Ltd. to conduct on-site safety inspections and provide education on preventing safety accidents. They also supported the creation of a safe and happy workplace by donating items such as smart fire extinguishers, portable emergency lights, and smoke masks to prevent workplace fires.

Lee Jae-hong, Director of TIPA, stated, "With increased attention to safety accidents following the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, TIPA will continue to make every effort to prevent industrial accidents in SMEs."
