[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Chungcheong region is stepping up support to expand local companies' exports to Vietnam.
Chungnam Province announced on the 24th that from the 25th to the 28th, together with Daejeon City and Sejong City, it will hold the "2022 Chungcheong Region TJB Vietnam Business Partnership Matching Day" in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The Matching Day is hosted by the three cities and provinces of the Chungcheong region and organized by the Korea Federation of SMEs and TJB. A total of 33 companies, including 20 from Chungnam, 10 from Daejeon, and 3 from Sejong, will participate in consultations with local buyers and business networking forums.
First, the local export consultation sessions will be held four times over four days starting on the 25th at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Hanoi and the Nikko Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
The consultation sessions invite local buyers to enable one-on-one meetings with Chungcheong region export SMEs.
The business networking forum is designed to support overseas market entry and marketing strategy development through exchanges between companies operating in Vietnam and Chungcheong region export SMEs.
This event will take place on the 27th at the Nikko Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, with about 80 participants including officials from the three cities and provinces and representatives of export SMEs. The program includes presentations on the Vietnamese market and investment environment, as well as success stories of entering Vietnam.
An official from the province said, "Vietnam is one of South Korea's top three export countries and ranks second in export share from Chungnam. This event will be an opportunity for export SMEs in the province to pioneer and expand the Vietnamese market."
Meanwhile, the Matching Day has been held since 2019. Last year, due to the impact of COVID-19, it was held online, resulting in 263 export consultations worth $44.5 million and 6 contracts worth $15.82 million.
