[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Daegu Technopark has decided to sell the Daegu Knowledge Center building and land in Sincheon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu, for 15.2 billion KRW to secure project funds to support advanced industries.
On the 6th, Daegu TP announced that as part of management innovation, it will undertake a major organizational restructuring for the first time since its establishment in 1998. The centers, which have been operating on a virtually independent accounting basis since their inception, will be integrated into a two-headquarters system, reorganizing projects and reducing four departments and sixteen teams to save an annual budget of 800 million KRW in personnel and operating expenses.
Additionally, through work adjustments and personnel reallocations, they have prepared a plan to reduce personnel costs by 700 million KRW annually from next year through 2026.
Daegu TP also plans to sell the Daegu Knowledge Service Center and its attached land adjacent to the Daegu TP headquarters building in Sincheon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu, to focus on attracting and supporting ABB industries such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data in the Dongdaegu Venture Valley.
The building, constructed on an area of over 1,300 square meters, is known to have an appraised value exceeding 15.2 billion KRW, including land price, building price, and parking lot land price.
Do Geon-woo, Director of Daegu TP, said, “Dongdaegu Venture Valley is the most preferred area for companies entering Daegu and is suitable for attracting advanced future industries such as ABB. It is expected that approximately 15 billion KRW in revenue will be generated from the sale,” adding, “We will use these funds to establish an ABB investment fund to build the regional ABB industry foundation.”
