[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Gyeongnam Information University and Sasang District of Busan are carrying out a Higher Vocational Education Hub District Project.
Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Dae-sik) and the Sasang District Office consortium were selected for the Ministry of Education’s ‘HiVE Project’ last June and will receive 4.95 billion KRW in government financial support over three years.
The government funding will be used to foster regionally specialized talent and promote lifelong education within the region.
On the 28th, Gyeongnam Information University held a sharing and cooperation meeting at Busan Lotte Hotel to ensure the successful execution of the project and to establish collaborative partnerships among local governments, participating institutions, and the local community.
The event was attended by institutional heads including Kim Dae-sik, President of Gyeongnam Information University and co-chair of the Higher Vocational Education Innovation Committee; Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Sasang District; Lee Young-hwal, Executive Vice President of Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Lee Jeong-rim, Chairman of Sasang Enterprise Development Council; and Son Young-su, Director of Sasang Cultural Center.
Additionally, groups such as the Sasang Youth Entrepreneurs Association and the Busan-Gyeongnam Startup Network Founders participated in the event to discuss strategies for advancing specialized fields and directions for cultivating regional professional talent to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Sasang District, stated, “We will strengthen cooperation among government, industry, and academia to ensure this project becomes a foundation for the development of Sasang District and will spare no administrative support for its successful execution.”
Kim Dae-sik, President of Gyeongnam Information University, said, “We will fulfill the university’s social responsibility to the local community, which has shown great support for Gyeongnam Information University, by nurturing regionally tailored professionals in collaboration with various local institutions and addressing local issues.”
