[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center (Seoul Yakryeongsi Korean Medicine Museum), located in the Korean Medicine Industry Special Zone Seoul Yakryeongsi, is recruiting students for the ‘Korean Medicine Expert Certification Course’ to train specialized personnel tailored to regional characteristics for the development of the local economy and Korean medicine business.
This Korean Medicine Expert Certification Course consists of the ‘Yakseonju Certification Course (Yakseonju Sommelier Level 3)’, which provides education on medicinal liquor and traditional Makgeolli brewing using Korean medicinal herbs, and the ‘Korean Medicine Herb Natural Products and Daily Korean Medicine Product Development Certification Course (Herbalist Level 2)’, which teaches the utilization of herbs and the manufacturing and sales of Korean medicine products.
The ‘Yakseonju Certification Course’ will be held every Wednesday for 8 weeks from October 12 to November 30.
The main curriculum includes ▲History of traditional liquor and understanding of Korean alcohol ▲Fermentation theory and traditional Makgeolli practice ▲Practice of medicinal liquors such as Dangguiju and Chrysanthemum liquor.
The ‘Korean Medicine Herb Natural Products Development Certification Course’ will be held every Thursday for 8 weeks from October 13 to December 1.
The main curriculum includes ▲Introduction to medicinal plants and cutting propagation ▲Manufacturing of products based on low-carbon raw materials ▲Manufacturing of vegan raw material cosmetics ▲Manufacturing of carbon-neutral eco-friendly plant-based cosmetics.
Students who complete all courses will receive a certificate of completion, and depending on the results of each course’s qualification exam, a Traditional Liquor Sommelier Level 3 certificate (issued by the Korea Traditional Liquor School) or a Herbalist Level 2 certificate (issued by the Korea Herb Association) will be awarded.
Residents who wish to participate in the ‘Korean Medicine Expert Certification Course’ can apply online through the Seoul Metropolitan Public Service Reservation page and the Dongdaemun-gu Office website. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Seoul Korean Medicine Promotion Center.
