[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Typhoon No. 14 'Nangmadol' brought strong winds with a maximum instantaneous speed of 34m/s, causing a flood of damage reports in the Busan area.


According to the Busan Police Agency and Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 19th, Nangmadol officially recorded a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 23.2m/s in the Busan area around 6 a.m. Strong winds reaching 34m/s blew on Oryukdo.


At around 8:40 p.m. on the 18th, a woman in her 40s in Oncheon-dong, Dongnae-gu, was hit by a fallen flowerpot due to strong winds and injured her right leg.


At 12:40 a.m. on the 19th, a 1.8m tall signboard fell in Jung-dong, Haeundae-gu, and at 2:23 a.m., a signboard measuring 3m wide and 0.5m tall fell in Songjeong-dong, Haeundae-gu.


Also, at 1:55 a.m., a 20-meter section of a 4m high steel fence collapsed on the roadside of Haedodiro, Seo-gu due to strong winds.


The Busan Police Agency controlled traffic at a total of 32 locations due to Nangmadol, and as of 9 a.m., 14 locations including Geoga Bridge and Choryang Underpass were reopened, while 18 locations remain controlled.


At Gimhae Airport, 39 flights including Air Busan BX2101 bound for Jeju were canceled in advance around 6:50 a.m. on the 19th.
