[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Netmarble announced on the 16th that its blockchain-specialized subsidiary Mavrex showcased the blockchain-based fighting game ‘King of Fighters Arena’ at 'Tokyo Game Show 2022' and revealed detailed information about the game.
‘King of Fighters Arena’ is the second collaboration between Netmarble and Japan's SNK, developed by Netmarble Neo, which has accumulated various global expertise through the service of the previous title ‘King of Fighters Allstar’.
This game, which applies blockchain systems such as character non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and game tokens, features real-time PvP (player versus player) battles where players can freely select one of the characters from the ‘King of Fighters’ series and enjoy simple controls.
At this Tokyo Game Show, Mavrex presented the latest build of ‘King of Fighters Arena’, which supports real-time 1-on-1 battles, to users and disclosed the core fun elements and token economy design of the game through a separate presentation session.
A Mavrex representative stated, “We aim to create a universal blockchain-based fighting game that not only fans of the existing King of Fighters series but also NFT holders and crypto users can all participate in,” and added, “We ask for much interest and support for ‘King of Fighters Arena’, which is scheduled for a global launch in the second half of this year.”
