[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] SK Group’s forestry and landscaping business affiliate SK Forestry announced on the 31st that it has officially launched its eco-friendly clean beauty brand Soofe’e in Olive Young.
The products launched in Olive Young are the three best-selling items from the Soofe’e Birch Rich Origin line: ▲Birch Rich Origin Essence (150ml) ▲Birch Rich Origin Ampoule (100ml) ▲Birch Rich Origin Cream (50ml).
These are vegan cosmetics made primarily from birch sap sourced from Indeungsan Mountain in Chungju, Chungbuk, which SK Forestry has nurtured for 50 years. Vegan cosmetics are products that do not conduct animal testing and use only eco-friendly ingredients derived from nature instead of animal-based raw materials. The Soofe’e Birch Rich Origin line has been certified as vegan cosmetics by EVE, the French Vegan Association, making it suitable for sensitive skin as well.
Birch sap is known for its excellent skin soothing and moisturizing effects, and the birch trees of Indeungsan Mountain have grown for half a century, containing deep and rich nutrients.
The birch sap ingredient in Soofe’e has proven effects such as skin soothing, skin texture improvement, skin moisturizing, sebum control, anti-aging, and pH balance through clinical tests on 19 skin improvement effects conducted by OATC Skin Clinical Trial Center, a cosmetics efficacy evaluation institution. Recently, Soofe’e upgraded its product line by doubling the content of the key components of birch sap compared to before.
To celebrate the launch in Olive Young, Soofe’e is also running a discount promotion. Until the 7th of next month, customers can purchase the three products of the Soofe’e Birch Rich Origin line at up to 20% off on the Olive Young online mall.
Soofe’e is a naturalistic cosmetic brand made from ingredients sourced directly from the forest nurtured by SK Forestry at Indeungsan Mountain in Chungju. Last year, it was rebranded as a ‘clean beauty’ product that minimizes waste generation from packaging to production and disposal.
The packaging uses eco-friendly paper materials made from 100% sugarcane residue, and the product printing is done with soy ink that is biodegradable and recyclable. The product containers use uncoated glass to facilitate recycling, and materials are separated by type to enable perfect waste separation and disposal.
Continuing SK Forestry’s commitment to ESG management, Soofe’e donates 10% of its sales revenue back to forests as a forest creation fund. It is currently in discussions with the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) to plant mangrove trees with excellent carbon absorption capacity in the Thai Binh region of Vietnam, aiming for planting in September.
