[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nexon announced on the 19th that it donated approximately 70 million KRW raised through the in-house donation event ‘Doubleu WEEK’ held at the end of July to the Purme Foundation to support medical care for children with disabilities.
Earlier, to foster a culture of sharing within the company involving both employees and the company, Nexon Korea held the fundraising in-house donation event ‘Doubleu WEEK’ for Nexon Korea employees from July 25 to 29, using an employee ID tagging method.
Held for the second time following last year, ‘Doubleu WEEK’ is structured so that the company donates twice the total amount raised by employees. This year, Nexon matched the approximately 35 million KRW raised by employees and donated the combined amount to the Purme Foundation.
The donation will be used as funds for the Purme Foundation’s ‘Miracle Hand-in-Hand’ campaign. ‘Miracle Hand-in-Hand’ is a donation campaign launched to establish rehabilitation treatment facilities for children with disabilities, including raising funds for the construction of the ‘Purme Foundation Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital,’ the first children’s rehabilitation hospital in Korea. The funds raised through ‘Doubleu WEEK’ will be used as operating funds for domestic rehabilitation treatment facilities for children with disabilities.
Kim Jung-wook, Vice President of Nexon Korea, said, “I hope the warm donations collected through the enthusiastic participation of our employees will be a valuable help to children with disabilities who urgently need rehabilitation treatment,” and added, “Nexon will continue to foster a joyful culture of sharing within the company together with employees and sustain donation activities for children and youth.”
Meanwhile, Nexon and the Nexon Foundation are carrying out various social contribution activities such as expanding medical facilities and broadening educational opportunities for children and youth who are beyond the reach of society’s support.
