Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular briefing on the 16th in response to questions about the trilateral naval exercise, "China has been closely monitoring the developments of this exercise, and has also noted North Korea's repeated expressions of concern about it," urging, "Actions that escalate tension and confrontation and undermine mutual trust must stop."
Spokesperson Wang further stated, "Safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula aligns with the common interests of all parties, and each side should show goodwill toward one another and move forward together."
The navies of South Korea, the United States, Japan, Australia, and Canada conducted the 'Pacific Dragon' exercise from the 8th to the 14th in waters near the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) in Hawaii.
During this exercise, the navies of South Korea, the United States, and Japan shared tactical data link information in accordance with the Trilateral Information Sharing Arrangement (TISA), signed in December 2014 to share North Korean nuclear and missile intelligence.
