[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The Imsil-gun Volunteer Center in Jeonbuk (Center Director So Byeongjong) announced on the 10th that it conducted a kimchi and samgyetang sharing volunteer activity for the disabled and elderly on the 9th.
This volunteer activity, promoted as part of the Jeollabuk-do Volunteer Center (Chairman Kim Gwangho) continuous program support project, "Operating a Happy Sharing Place Made Together," involved about 20 volunteers including Imsil County Governor Sim Min, Saemaul Association, Red Cross Volunteer Society, Federation of Women's Associations, Crime Prevention Unit, and Women's Volunteer Society.
The sharing volunteer activity was prepared for the disabled and elderly who face economic difficulties in making kimchi due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in vegetable prices caused by the rainy season and heatwave.
With recommendations from the Imsil-gun Sign Language Interpretation Center, the Association of the Visually Impaired, the Disabled Association, and volunteer organizations, over 200 households from socially marginalized groups in the region received delicious and heartfelt young radish kimchi and samgyetang sponsored by the Jeonju Briquette Bank, receiving great response.
The "Happy Sharing Place Made Together" program held that day is a support project by the Jeonbuk Volunteer Center for city and county volunteer centers, conducting bread-sharing volunteer activities for the elderly and disabled facilities, summer kimchi sharing volunteer activities, and Chuseok holiday food sharing activities.
Governor Sim Min said, "I am grateful for delivering hearty health food to neighbors in need within the county through the passionate participation of volunteers, and I hope that the local community will be revitalized through the participating volunteers."
