TimeGate and NIA Selected as Performing Institutions for 6 Fields in the '2022 AI Training Data Construction Project'

Timegate, a cloud and IT solutions specialist, has been selected as a performing company in six fields (totaling 10.6 billion KRW) for the '2022 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Data Construction Project' led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and promoted by the National Information Society Agency.

The 'AI Training Data Construction Project' is a foundational and core initiative of the Data Dam project, where the government builds training data for AI research, technology, and service development, and makes it publicly available for anyone to use, thereby contributing to the activation of the AI industry.

The data that Timegate will construct this time includes six types: customer response, address voice, environmental noise, forest species 3D scanning and modeling, bivalve seed production, and swine biometric energy. Following the 2021 construction of 3D urban video data in Korea, Timegate has secured expertise in a wider range of data fields.

In particular, the 'Customer Response Data Construction Project,' led by Timegate, is expected to enhance AI-based customer services in today's contactless era and be applicable in various fields such as chatbots and AI speakers. The consortium consists of MT Data Co., Ltd., Korea Post Business Promotion Foundation, Digrap Co., Ltd., Semyung Soft Co., Ltd., Miso Information Technology Co., Ltd., Expert Consulting Co., Ltd., and the Korea Consumer Agency.

For this project, Timegate has established processes, verification systems, and tools for quality management of AI training data. Furthermore, it has begun developing a data platform for the entire lifecycle ecosystem, including data collection, processing, and utilization.

Shin Seung-ho, CEO of Timegate, stated, “Through the successful performance of last year's AI training dataset project, we were able to secure six diverse dataset projects this year. In particular, by linking Timegate's cloud-related technological capabilities and business, we expect to provide new services utilizing AI data, and through this, we will take the lead as a specialized AI and data company.”
