Mokpo City Hosts Mokpo Travel Performance with Lee Young-nyeo

[Mokpo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Jeonnam Mokpo City announced on the 25th that it will hold a performance titled ‘Lee Young-nyeo and Mokpo Travel’ at 7:30 PM on the 30th at the Mokpo Culture and Arts Center.

This performance provides visual enjoyment by presenting key scenes from the play ‘Lee Young-nyeo,’ set in Mokpo and written by the playwright Kim Woo-jin, who was born in Mokpo, while also conveying Kim Woo-jin’s message to contemporary audiences.

Through ‘Lee Young-nyeo,’ audiences can appreciate the first full-fledged naturalistic work in Korean theater history and reflect on life by following the protagonist’s life path, who tragically ends her life in extreme poverty.

Admission is free for all seats on a first-come, first-served basis, and viewers can take their seats and watch without separate ticketing.

Meanwhile, this performance is a cultural sharing project promoted with partial funding support after being selected for the ‘2022 Regional Culture and Arts Center Culture Day’ public contest.
